*   *    LAURIE! *     *
I'm Laurie. I have hair that makes Richard Simmon's hair looks good. I like giraffes and monkeys. I especially like monkeys. When I was born, my dad said I was either a boy or the ugliest girl alive. It's things like that that makes my self-esteem so high these days. I like a mixture of music from Tool to Weezer to Billie Holiday to Flock of Seagulls. I have an extreme love for the 80s that will never cease. I think I've seen The Breakfast Club about thirty eight times, even though I only like parts of it. Emilio Estevez is my boyfriend. I have a lawn gnome named Clyde. He's dear to my heart. Bruce Willis sings stalker songs to me at night. I watch TV a lot. I love movies to death. I hate the feeling, sound, word, thought of fleece. My nanny gave me a fleece sweater awhile ago. I like the smell of gasoline, freshly cut grass and chlorine. I like when my skin smells after I get out of the pool. I tend to bite my nails too much so my nails are gross and short and creepy. I can't stand having bumps in my hair. I have to have music. I cry during scenes like the ending of Revenge of the Nerds. Unpixelated Sims is funny, and kind of creepy. Laughing at drunk people makes for good times. Claire is my sex monkey. You just wish you were, too. I'm not on crack, although you'd think I was.

Why do people hate when their favourite unknown bands become famous, are played on the radio and are shown on MuchMusic or MTV in some cases? Why? They want to keep their bands a secret from the world - proud to have loved them when they were small and unheard of. I'm sorry, did you WANT that band to die off because people start to like them as well? Heaven forbid they become popular, and they get sponsors and more money to perform. Heaven forbid fangirls are born and worship their faces and bodies and voices and personal statistics. Heaven forbid they go into fancy recording studios and strike up deals so they can make music for you.

Who REALLY cares that they become the hottest thing to hear? Honestly, if you're a true fan, you should be proud of their success and rise to fame. It doesn't matter if you knew of them when they were a grungy garage band; nobody really cares about that. I'm sorry but it really bothers me.
People freak out about "their bands" being played on the radio or a public music station. Get over yourself and enjoy the fact that "your band" is a new hit. Nobody wants to hear you complain.

Indie Eyes: it's a special movie. i cried at the end
Indie Eyes: "we are the champions" sung in the background while nerds gather in a group hug and laugh and cheer. wow, that always gets me.
conversegEEk: lol
conversegEEk: those touching nerd scenes

Indie Eyes: booyah uncle mort
Indie Eyes: See, most people say "booyah grandma" but what about the forgotten relatives? Hmm?!
conversegEEk: that's why family strife percentages are so high these days.

Indie Eyes: I had a joke just then but I lost it, in with Britney Spears moaning on my radio and such.
Indie Eyes: She's a very good moaner. Strategy and practice, I suppose.
conversegEEk: lol - moaning. this is far too obscene of a conversation for me
Indie Eyes: Oh, stop lying. It is not.
conversegEEk: you lie!

She's a very clever girl. And she knows it.

I think my belly button is healing, or at least I hope so. Uh, let's see. Gilmore Girls was really good today - next week's looks very good :D My mom and I are tense. I'm doing my Media project -- I'm not enthusiastic about it right now so I'm going slowly. M'eh. Comptek tomorrow after school. Then on Thursday, it's a half day. But I stay after school for locker birthday decorations and Parent-Teacher Interviews. On Friday, we're all having a birthday movie night for Jen and Josslyn. And then on Saturday, it's Movie Day with Ashley. On Sunday, I have homework day.
I am obsessed with this Jimmy Eat World CD :P

Listening to the Go-Go's and The Wiseguys and The Ramones. I just got back from Josslyn's and I now have the biggest headache :( AND THE HAIRDYE DIDNT WORK!! >:O I'm going to write the company. My hair's too dark to dye. I'd have to bleach.

Okay, I was driven to Kelsey's but I was the first one there and I didn't want to sit there alone so I waited in the car for other people to arrive. Soon everyone came except Jen Z. and Tanya for their own reasons, I guess. There was Fiona, Ryan, Josslyn, Julia, Jen, Candice, Claire and I there. We ordered, ate, took MANY pictures, laughed and did the usual girly thing and opened gifts. Finally, we got our bills, paid and went outside. Since we were all mostly full, we stood on this pavement landing and waited for Josslyn and Jen's mom to come pick us up. Half of us left in Josslyn's car to go back to her house. Then we got picked up by Jen's dad.

When we got to Josslyn's, we chilled in her room for about five minutes before going for a walk. We hiked (in sandals :P) around outside in her hilly and woody backyard. We went about half a mile away, rolled down a hill (Julia and I did that anyways -- I fell, lost my sandal and got scratched up on my face, lol) and walked around. Followed paths until we got to this super steep hill. Claire, Candice and Julia went down it, while Josslyn, Fiona, Jen and I walked around to meet up with them. Kinda confusing. We heard Julia's retarded screams and finally met up with them -- they were pimping up this crashed old car with Julia on the smushed hood. Then, we switched paths going back and my "group" went UP the super steep hill. My legs hate me.

Finally, we got back home and went inside. We watched "Rock 'n' Roll High School" with PJ Soles and the Ramones. It was okay, I guess. We pigged out on ice cream cake, ketchup chips, and pop. Yummy junk food. When the movie was finished, we rolled around tiredly. It was like 11 p.m. but we popped in "What Lies Beneath." Three people got online (not simultaneously; they switched every so often) and two people fell asleep. We woke them up and by the end of the movie, we were just laying there sprawled on the couches watching it. When that movie was done, we trooped upstairs and got into our PJs. Brushed our teeth and got ready for bed. Laid out the six sleeping bags in Josslyn's floor and got settled. It was 1 a.m. We talked and laughed and teased until Julia or Fiona fell asleep. Probably Josslyn too. Jen, Claire and I were WIDE AWAKE and friggin' wired. We took a picture with her camera (flash ON) and nearly died from the flash. The three of us finally quieted down around two.

I woke up right early to Josslyn's mom playing loud music downstairs. The floor was nearly vibrating and stuff. Everyone else was asleep so I tried to. I did eventually but I woke back up when I heard Fiona waking. I felt something on my arm, and thinking it was Jen's hand or something sprawled on me, I tried to move it. It was Josslyn's tiny Jack Russell (or something small) Goliath. His paw was on me :D Fiona and I talked until Claire woke up. Finally, Josslyn and Jen did too but we left Julia sleeping. After she awoke, we decided we wanted the rest of the ice cream cake. All of a sudden, we stood up and nearly ran downstairs to the cake ;D We devoured it and took some more pictures, I think. Watched TV until the parents arrived. I was last to leave.

So yeah. That was my eventful Saturday and Sunday. Now I need to read my good book, eventually get around to writing up some crappy rough draft for English, pasting on stupid pictures for my collage and fooling around online all day. Yay me. Everyone download:

The Wiseguys - "Start the Commotion"
The Go-Gos - "Turn to You"
The Ramones - "Sheena is a Punk Rocker"
Avril Lavigne - "Complicated" (or at least the neat video :D)

HOLY I WROTE ALOT :P There, I'm satisfied. No more writing until tomorrow or something. Ha.
